Pastor Jeff Anderson - Executive Pastor
What is your passion regarding the Kingdom of God, the Church, our Church, your ministry?
"I see the kingdom of God as the overarching priority of any Christian and any church. Our focus is on participating and expanding it, when we concentrate on His kingdom we are fully in the will of God. My passion for our church is that it be a body of believers that love, encourage, disciple, sacrifice for, and take care of one another while in pursuit of Jesus and His kingdom. I see it as a place where we receive healing from the past and motivation and teaching for the present and the future."
What is your life verse and why?
"Matthew 6:33 “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you.” This verse for me is more about the first part of the verse then the second. To me it is the guiding compass. The kingdom of God is first and everything else will fall into place."
What was your salvation experience?
"I was serving in the Army as a Cav Scout. My reason for going into the Army was to try to get some direction in my life and to serve my country. The problem was the biggest problem (me) came with me. I felt hopeless and alone and was at the end of myself. My platoon leader was a strong Christian and knowing my trouble he asked me to go to church with him and afterward we talked about Jesus and I gave my life to Him. I wish I could say that I completely turned around at that moment, but I tried the lone ranger approach to walking with Jesus and I wasn’t very good at being my own disciple. But, He was faithful and eventually I got around other Christians and a good church and my life hasn’t been the same since!"
Why did you get into ministry?
"The first qualification for ministry is to be called. I believe I have been called by God. I would say something else that helped qualify me was that I served NCC for over a decade in whatever capacity they needed."
When did you join NCC staff?
"I joined the staff in September of 2008. I have been coming to the church since August of 96."
Who is in your immediate family?
"My wife, Dena and my three kids: Danielle, Meagan, and Ryan."
Where is your favorite place to pray?
"In the morning outside when the weather is tolerable, otherwise in our family den."
