Mike Mitchell - NCC Elder, Guardian Men's Ministry
What is your passion regarding the Kingdom of God, the church, our church, your ministry?
"My passion is to Shepherd the body of Christ ; to GUIDE, GUARD,and GOVERN. I love to challenge believers in achieving greatness for God, to reach their God given potential, and to equip believers to win the lost."
What is your life verse and why?
"My life verse is Jer 33:3 - Call unto Me and I will answer and you, I will show you great and mighty things! This is my life verse because I have a passion to pursue God knowing that when I do He will show me hidden things that can only be known except by much prayer. If I will call, He will answer and He will show me. That just continues to drive me with great expectation into His presence."
What was your salvation experience?
"I was born again June 14th, 1968 at 7:30pm. I was at a Sunday night church service at First Baptist Church in Gilmer, TX. I had failed to follow GOd as a grown teenager, and came back to serve God uncompromisingly in 1985. Two years later in 1987 I received the baptism of the Holy Spirit. "
Why did you get into minisitry?
"I got into to ministry because it is my great passion to lead and challenge God's people to lay hold of why God layed hold of them,to reach out by faith and take the inheritance that is ours by covenant relationship."
When did you join the NCC staff?
"I began leading intercessory prayer for many years then became a life group leader at the church. God continued to let me serve and expanded my influence to the men's ministry, children's ministry and to teaching educational classes. I joined the NCC in 1991 and have been apart of the staff for 2 years."
What is your immediate family?
"My wife Andi, and I have 6 children: Janna, Judah, Josiah, Joel, Joshua, and Jennifer."
Where is your favorite place to pray?
"My favorite place to pray is the kitchen table at 5:00am with a good cup of my best coffee. Oh and my bible along with plenty of paper and a pen are a must during my prayer time."
